Tahoe was fun, but I got laid up this year with a sprained ankle only a day and half into the trip!!! I spent many hours in the condo reading, watching the Discovery Channel, playing Bubble Break on my treo, and watching my nephew learn to crawl!

He's 7 months now and on the go!

ah! he's so ridiculously cute...sorry I'm biased!

Pictures from Disney Half Marathon Weekend

Our awesome resort - Disney's Pop Century Resort! The classic's through to the 1990's! Where else can you find 2story tall rendering's of your birth era....

That's right, Joyce, you'll always be older than us!

Or a GIGANTIC foosball table!

Or larger than life Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head!

After arriving and taking the Magical Express to the resort, we headed to the Health and Fitness Expo at Disney's Wide World of Sports to register for the Half Marathon

We picked up our race numbers, goodie bags, and had some fun with the running mannequins...

Then we went to Downtown Disney for dinner and LEGOWORLD!!!

It's Lego HK and NY!!

Finally, it's race time! Saturday, Jan. 6th, 2007...6:00am (although Joyce and I had to get up at 3am to be at the "staging" area prior to the race !!!)

3hrs and 13mins later....here I am a half marathon finisher!!!

Close up of the cool donald medal (marathoner's get a mickey medal and if you run BOTH in one weekend you get a goofy medal!)

Sooooo much thanks to Foo, Ang and Shaw for coming down to support me and Joyce! (there are no pictures of me and Joyce finishing together because Joyce finished looooooong before me and made the smart decision to go back to the hotel first and shower and SLEEP. Go Joyce!)

After a much needed nap, Joyce and I met up with the rest of them at the park.

I'm still looking around for all my HK/TW Christmas photos...another photo update later. Toodles!

Status: Recovering from the holidays...literally

Holidays at home in HK was awesome! I loved seeing everyone - friends and family. Taiwan was also sooooo yummy, er, I mean fun! (pics to come)

Disney was also amazing! 1) Finished my first half marathon! Can't wait for the next one! Thanks, Joyce, for being such a good person to train with! 2) Celebrated Ang's 25th birthday at the Magic Kingdom! Happy Birthday, Girl!

Now if I could only stop being sick!

Status: Gearing up for the Holidays...

Nov - Slot Car Racing in CT for HY and Shaw Ming's birthday! Vroom Vroom!

There's been an accident!! Can't go too fast around those turns...

Even Patrick wants in on the action...but it's all very tiring.

Oct - Almost made it to the Oyster Bay Festival 5K. Almost. Instead we hung out on the Sand Dunes.

Les and Joyce are Queens of the Dune and we all attempt to skip some stones.

Nov - Trial Thanksgiving!

Patrick and I model our new duds. Auntie Joyce bought him a Cornell jacket (just like his parents!) and I've got on my spiffy knitted beanie from Elaine (*ahem*)

PART of Trial Thanksgiving. Menu included:

Turkey
Two kinds of stuffing (one with chinese sausage, one without)
Potato wedges
Some sort of mushroom, sausage meat filled toast cups (SO GOOD!)
Mushroom soup (SO GOOD!)
Succotash
Mashed potatoes
Homemade cranberry sauce
Gibblet Gravy
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Sour Cream Pie
Ice Cream

I am hungry just thinking about it again...Can't wait till real thanksgiving next week. :)

Oct - Patrick's first Halloween!

Mommy and Baby Cow go off to conquer the trick-o-treating neighborhood! Udderly irresistable! :D

Oct - AVON WALK 2006

Another year, another Avon Walk. This year we're Crewing. Up at 3am making sandwiches for all the volunteer and crew members for this year's walk. It was SO COLD.

GO INFORMATION SERVICES!!!

Day and Night on Randall's Island, under the Manhattan Bridge.

Another great walk this year. Hope to do it again next year!!!

My almost five week old nephew went apple picking this weekend! Ever the ambitious one he takes the largest one. ^_^

Who's that?! Patrick is shocked to find someone else in his play pen!

Very random photo of my first apple pie that I made by myself!!! I even have people who will say it tasted good!! (Yes, I cut the hearts myself!)

Much love to the ladies! Sorry, Dad, you're way out numbered but at least you've managed to marry off 2 out of 3 already! haha. :D (Cousin's wedding this summer in CA)

Totally unexpected! Now I finally have music for the "long" runs I've finally managed to get too! Perfect timing!

Schedule of upcoming races:

Sept 9th - I n' L Invitational 4Mi - Central Park

Oct 1st - 10K Race for Rehab

Oct 14th - 5K Oyster Run

Oct 29th - 5K Pumpkin Chase

Jan 6th - Disney Half Marathon!!!! (Joyce finally convinced me to commit - ack! what have I done?!?!)

My nephew will be here by wednesday! I can't wait!!! Hope that the whole birthing process won't be too traumatizing for me...
